How to Make an AI Rap Video: Step by Step (2026)

To make an AI rap video, open the WakePix studio, add two photos (or one photo of you both, or one photo for a solo rap), pick a stage and a quality, type an optional topic, and press the make button. About four minutes later you can download a 12-second vertical rap video with AI vocals, a beat and lip-sync.

TL;DR

  • What you need: one or two clear, front-facing photos of adults who agreed to appear.
  • What you get: a 12-second, 9:16, 720p video with four rhyming English lines, generated vocals, a beat and lip-sync.
  • Time: about a minute to set up, about four minutes to render.
  • Cost: a Fast video is 17 credits; the Try-it-once pack is $9.90 for one Fast video. Failed renders are refunded automatically.

The steps below follow the editor as it works today.

Step 1: Open the studio and add your photos

Go to the studio on the home page, or any rap page such as the AI rap generator. Make sure the Rap video tab is selected at the top. (The other tab, Effects, holds wordless story clips like the zombie love story and the AI kiss.)

Above the photo area, choose how you are adding people:

  • Two photos: one selfie per person. The first photo raps lines one and two, the second photo raps lines three and four. The photos do not need to be taken together.
  • One photo of both: a single photo with both of you side by side. The person on the left raps first.
  • Solo: one photo of one person, who raps all four lines alone.

Tap the slot and choose your photo. You do not need an account to add photos; you are only asked to sign in when you press the make button. Photos you add before signing in stay in your browser and upload right after you sign in.

Step 2: Pick the stage

Choose one of five stages:

  • Orange Booth: a bright, minimalist orange studio booth with one hanging microphone.
  • Luxury Lobby: marble floors and warm lights, the polished hotel-lobby look.
  • Studio Booth: a dark recording studio with acoustic foam walls.
  • Street Cypher: a city street at night with graffiti walls and streetlights.
  • Street Freestyle: a red-lit restaurant entrance at night, filmed like a phone clip, with a friend holding a small speaker.

The first four stages use a single hanging microphone; Street Freestyle has no microphone, you rap straight into the phone. Clothing stays plain and unbranded, so the video stays clean.

Step 3: Choose quality and length

The default is Fast: 720p, 12 seconds, 9:16, for 17 credits. It is the best balance of speed and quality. Tap "Change model or quality" to switch to Standard, the highest quality, for 30 credits. Both render in roughly four minutes.

Step 4: Tell it what to rap about (optional)

Tap "What are you rapping about?" and type a short topic, up to 120 characters. Good topics are specific: "Maya's 30th birthday, always late for cake" works better than "birthday." Include names if you want them in the verse; the AI usually works them in, but it is not guaranteed.

Tap Preview the lyrics to see a free sample verse before you spend any credits. The sample is only a preview; your video gets its own lyrics written from the same topic. Leave the field empty and a fun default verse is used.

Step 5: Make the video

Press the make button ("Make our rap video", or "Make my rap video" in Solo mode). If you are not signed in yet, you will be asked to sign in now. If your balance is too low, you will see the credit options.

Pressing the button confirms that you are 18 or older, that you have permission from everyone in the photos, and that you agree to the Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.

Step 6: Watch, then download

A progress bar shows the render. It takes about four minutes, and you can leave the page open; the video also appears under My videos. When it is ready, press Download video to save the vertical MP4. It fits TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts without cropping. Please keep the AI-generated label when you post it.

How much does an AI rap video cost?

  • Fast video: 17 credits. Standard video: 30 credits.
  • Try it once: $9.90 for 17 credits, enough for one Fast video. Two and three video packs are $17.90 and $24.90. Try-it-once credits never expire.
  • Subscriptions: from $29.90 a month for 100 credits.
  • Failed renders: if a render fails, or is still unfinished after 30 minutes, the credits go back to your balance automatically.

Troubleshooting

"Photo was not accepted." Every photo goes through an automatic safety check. Photos are rejected if they appear to show a celebrity or public figure, a child, nudity, or no clear person. Use a clear photo of an adult who agreed to appear.

"That photo is too small" or "too narrow or too wide." Use a photo at least 300 px on the short side, in a normal portrait or selfie shape.

"That photo is rotated by its camera settings." Re-save the photo upright (for example, take a screenshot of it or export it again) and try again.

The people look blurry or off. Use front-facing, well-lit photos with one clear person, no sunglasses and no heavy filters. In "One photo of both" mode, both people need to be clearly visible and roughly the same size.

The lyrics did not mention the name. Put the name at the start of the topic and keep the rest short, for example "Jordan, best cook in the family." Names are usually included but not guaranteed. Names of famous people are blocked by the filter.

The render failed. Your credits are returned automatically. Try again, or try different photos.
